What is the Gift of Sight?

The Gift of Sight is a unique collection of gifts you can give to your friends or family while also supporting our sight-restoring work in the Pacific.

Can I claim tax back on Gift of Sight orders?

While all orders will go towards our work ending avoidable blindness and vision impairment in the Pacific, merchandise that includes GST cannot be claimed for a tax rebate.

Any donation items you have ordered, for example our cards and e-cards that do not include GST, are tax deductible.  Any donations of $5 or more may be eligible for a donation tax. Learn more.

Which Gift of Sight items count as tax deductible donations?

All Gift of Sight purchases will help support the work of The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ.

However, only items that do not include GST, for example cards, e-cards, and donations, can be used for donation tax rebate claims.

How is my donation used?

Your Gift of Sight orders will go towards our work ending avoidable blindness and vision impairment in the Pacific. This includes eye operations and treatments, training surgeons and eye health workers, and setting up sustainable eye health systems.

For every $1 donated, 72% goes directly towards eye health programmes and public education and 28% is necessary for admin, communication and fundraising costs which allows us to help even more people.

How does the Specsavers gift matching work?

Any purchase of a e-card, card, or donation will be generously matched by Specsavers, meaning your gift will have double the impact. $25 becomes $50. One sight-saving surgery becomes two.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you deliver?

We can deliver to New Zealand addresses on the NZ Post network. Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to PO Boxes or Private Bag addresses.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Depending on where you are located, delivery can take between 7 - 10 business days. You will receive a delivery tracking link as soon as your order has been packed.

Please note that during the busy holiday period, couriers can be delayed. If you are in a rural area, please allow for a further 2 - 4 days for delivery.

To ensure your gifts arrive in time for Christmas, place your order by Wednesday 14th December.

How much does shipping cost?

We ship to all New Zealand addresses for $6. For any orders that include 3 - 6 items (excluding ecards and cards), this cost will go up to $8 For orders of 7 or more, the shipping cost will be $10.

Do you ship overseas?

Unfortunately, we can only ship items within New Zealand. Overseas delivery is not available at this time.

What packaging do we use?

This year we have made the switch to a more sustainable packaging solution. We will be using recycled plastic mailing bags from Better Packaging Co, a New Zealand-owned environmentally friendly packaging company.

Their POLLAST!C Mailers are made from 100% ocean bound plastic pollution (excluding seals, inks, and colourants) and can be recycled with soft plastics.
